About Me
I hold a PhD in instructional technology from Utah State University. I am a professor at Hacettepe University, Turkey. Previously, I was a visiting scholar at the Center for Studies in Higher Education at the University of California, Berkeley; an adviser to the Minister of National Education of Turkey as well as to the President of the Board of Higher Education (YÖK); a columnist for the Star daily, a high-circulation Turkish newspaper; and directed educational policy research at SETA Foundation, an Ankara based think-tank. Also, on behalf of Turkish Ministry of National Education, I was a member of the Executive Board of Turkish Fulbright Commission in 2016. I also served as a member of the Study Group on Science and Education Policy, established by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA). My primary research interests include data science, computational social science, educational policy studies, comparative and international education, and higher education.
